Absolute Beginners Crochet Classes

Series of Three Classes  Cost £55

Tuesday 29th April,6 th May,13th May 1-3 pm

Hook yarn and supporting written materials will be provided.

Crochet means hook and to crochet entails the pulling over of one loop of yarn over another.

Crochet cannot be made by machine it can only be done by hand

You will be amazed by what you can create by learning a few simple crochet stitches.

Join Carole from Game of Throws 2011 for a series of 3 crochet classes .

The classes will be relaxed and informal and very friendly.

Crochet is a very mindful and relaxing craft. Once you have tried this amazing , versatile craft you will be hooked.

Week 1 :- Learning the basics.

How to hold the yarn and hook comfortably and be able to crochet the basic stitches.

eg chain stitch , double crochet , treble crochet .

You'll also learn the difference between UK and USA crochet terminology

Make sure you remember your hook and yarn for week 2.

Week 2 :- Recap of the stitches from week one and then we will progress to adding a few more basic skills e.g. slip stitch, working in rows half trebles , magic circles ( or alternatives) increasing and decreasing .

Week 3 :-  The key to crochet ( like many skills ) is to practice , practice , practice and yet more practice.

We will review progress and cover anything which is problematic .

We can cover any techniques you may want to learn which haven't already been covered

eg colour changes , blocking,  borders etc all of which will give your work a more professional finish.
